The Genesis Scottish Open is one of the five tournaments that is part of the DP World Tour’s Rolex Series. This event, along with the ISCO Championship, is a co-sanctioned event between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. Many players use this week to get comfortable with the links-style golf course to prepare them for The Open the following week. Here is all you need to know about the tournament.

Course Records at The Renaissance Club

The event has been played at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, for the last six years. The course is a par 70 and plays just over 7,200 yards. The tournament scoring record is 22-under, set by the 2019 Champion Bernd Wiesberger.

Famous Winners of the Genesis Scottish Open

In 2024, Scotland native Robert MacIntyre won his national Open, defeating Adam Scott by one stroke. His 22-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole ended up making the difference between a win and a playoff. The year before, MacIntyre finished in second place and one stroke behind Rory McIlroy after McIlroy birdied the 18th hole. McIlroy had hit a 4-iron to 10 feet from 204 yards; there is now a plaque memorializing this spectacular shot on the course. Former Major Champions Xander Schauffele, Phil Mickelson and Justin Rose have also previously won this event.

Players to Watch at the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open

At the upcoming event, MacIntyre will look to defend his title against a star-studded field. Eight of the top ten players in the Official World Golf Ranking list are in the field, including McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler. Tommy Fleetwood has finished second, T4 and T6 at this event since 2020. Look for him to rebound from his tough finish at the Travelers Championship and hoist the trophy at The Renaissance Club.
