The 2025 Ryder Cup’s Team USA Will be captained by Keegan Bradley. Bradley recently won the Travelers Championship, with talk about him competing himself at Bethpage Black circulating.
The 2025 BMW Championship will be the final qualifying opportunity for the American players. The top 6 ranked men after this week will automatically qualify, leaving Bradley with 6 picks of his own to make afterwards.
Team USA’s Assistant Captains are Jim Furyk, Kevin Kisner, Webb Simpson, Brandt Snedeker and Gary Woodland. Now that all the majors have been played and the Ryder Cup is just two months away, let’s project who will join Captain Bradley in New York.
Scottie Scheffler – Confirmed
The World No. 1 has already qualified for the Ryder Cup team. His combined record in his previous two Ryder Cups is 2-2-3. He has backed up his historic 2024 season with winning the 2025 PGA Championship and Open Championship.
J.J. Spaun – Confirmed
Spaun joined Scheffler as an automatic qualifier after losing in a playoff at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. This will be the U.S. Open Champion’s first time representing America in any team competition. But with five top-10 finishes that included a major win and a second place finish at the Player’s Championship, he has earned his Ryder Cup debut. He proved at Oakmont that the pressure of the big lights will not affect his play.
Xander Schauffele – Confirmed
The two-time major champion is the last automatic qualifier who will be teeing it up at Bethpage Black. Schauffele has been a part of the last two Ryder Cup teams in 2021 and 2023. In those two events, he has an overall record of 4-4-0. He finished T16 at the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black.
Bryson DeChambeau – Confirmed via Captain’s Pick
DeChambeau will also be making his third appearance in the Ryder Cup. In the 2018 and 2021 Ryder Cups, he had a combined record of 2-3-1. He has excelled in the majors the last two years, finishing in the top-10 six out of eight times, including a win at the 2024 U.S. Open. His driving and short game ability will be a great fit around the tough Bethpage Black course and made him a clear choice for Captain Bradley.
Justin Thomas
This would be Thomas’ fourth time playing in the Ryder Cup. In the previous three, he has a combined record of 7-4-2. He is widely viewed as the emotional leader for the American side during his previous team events. Thomas has returned to form this year with seven top-10 finishes that included a win at the RBC Heritage. He’s currently ranked 7th overall heading into the 2025 BMW Championship and hoping to break into the top 6.
Collin Morikawa
Morikawa would be making his third appearance for the red, white and blue. In his previous two Ryder Cups, he has a combined record of 4-3-1. He has not won since 2023 but has been a model of consistency the last two years and is currently ranked 8th overall. He has more top-10 finishes this season than he has missed cuts.
Russell Henley – Confirmed
Henley has never played in a Ryder Cup but was on the winning 2024 President’s Cup team. In that match play event, he went 3-1-0 while mostly being paired with Scheffler. He won the Arnold Palmer Invitational over Morikawa and has seven other top-10 finishes this season. Known for his ball striking ability, Henley would pair well with anyone on the American team.
Ben Griffin
This would be Griffin’s first time representing Team USA. in a team competition. He picked up his first two career wins and two top-10 major finishes this season. He has four other top-10 finishes that included a second place finish to Scheffler at The Memorial Tournament. Like Henley, Griffin would pair well with any of the other players.
Patrick Cantlay
Cantlay would represent America for the third time in the Ryder Cup should he be chosen. His combined record in his previous two is 5-2-1. Cantlay and Schauffele form a formidable pair that has played well together in the last two Ryder Cups. Cantlay has not won in three years but has three top-five finishes this season. He finished T3 at the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black.
Sam Burns
This would be Burns second time on the Ryder Cup team. In 2023, he went 1-2-0, but in the 2024 President’s Cup he went 3-0-1. Burns is the best putter on the PGA Tour, which will be valuable on Bethpage Black’s fast and challenging greens. He finished T29 at the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage.
Harris English – Confirmed
Like Burns, this would be the second time English plays in the Ryder Cup. In the 2021 Ryder Cup, he had a record of 1-2-0. He returned to the winner’s circle with a victory at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open. He also has a T12 finish at the Masters and T2 finish at the PGA Championship.
Keegan Bradley
The final spot on the team potentially belongs to Captain Bradley. The question everyone wants to know is will Bradley pick himself or go with another player? He has said he will only pick himself if he is one of the six automatic qualifiers.
The last time a Ryder Cup captain played was in 1963 when Arnold Palmer did it. Bradley has played in two previous Ryder Cups, going 4-3-0 in those appearances. He has five top-10 finishes this season that included a win at the Travelers Championship. Bradley finished T29 at the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage.
