The Arnold Palmer Invitational has been an official PGA Tour event since 1966. This tournament is one of five given “Invitational” status by the PGA Tour. The invitational tournaments have smaller fields with different eligibility requirements. The winner of the tournament receives a red cardigan sweater in memory of Arnold Palmer. This will be the third of eight Signature Events of the 2026 PGA Tour schedule.
In the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational, Russell Henley picked up his fifth career win by defeating Collin Morikawa by one stroke. Henley had this to say about being the defending champion this week. “Yeah, pretty crazy showing up here and being the defending champion. I mean, like I said last year, I watched this tournament since I was a little kid, and to see all the amazing finishes coming down 18, and to do that and to play well under pressure and win this tournament, it’s just a dream come true.”

With water features on most holes, the players will need to have precise ball-striking and shot-making if they want to be in contention. The 18-hole record is 62, shared by three golfers. Most recently, Adam Scott shot it in the first round of the 2014 Arnold Palmer Invitation.
