The Cognizant Classic has been an official PGA Tour event since 1972. This is the first of four consecutive events in Florida. Previously called the Honda Classic when the American Honda Motor Company was the title sponsor until 2023, the event became known as the Cognizant Classic when Cognizant took over as the title sponsor.
This event will be the last time players have a chance to earn their way into the Arnold Palmer Invitational through the AON Next 10 and Aon Swing 5. AON has sponsored two pathways to get into Signature Events, like the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The AON Next 10 is for the top 10 players not already exempt from the FedExCup standings. The AON Swing 5 is the top five FedExCup point earners.
In the 2025 Cognizant Classic Joe Highsmith picked up his first career win by defeating J.J. Spaun and Jacob Bridgeman by two strokes.
About PGA National Champion Course
The Champion Course at PGA National plays at 7,223 yards as a par 71. The famous “Bear Trap” – holes 15-17 – features water on every hole and causes drama at the end of each round. The course has added 100 yards from last year’s tournament and has water in play on 15 of 18 holes.
The course record was set by Jake Knapp in the first round of last year’s tournament when he shot a 59, becoming the 14th player in PGA Tour history to shoot a sub-60 round.

Highsmith will look to defend his title against a field that includes Brooks Koepka, Blades Brown and Ryan Gerard. We predict Shane Lowry will pick up the win this week. In his last four starts here he has finished T11, T4, T5 and 2nd.
