The DS Automobiles 83 Open d’ Italia is the men’s national open in Italy that was established in 1925. The Italian Open is one of the few tournaments that has been played every year of the DP World Tour existence.
This event is the 11th national open played on the DP World Tour this season. The Italian Open is the penultimate event in The Open Qualifying Series, a route for players to earn a spot in the last major of the year, the Open Championship.
In the 2025 DS Automobiles 83 Open d’Italia, Adrian Saddier defeated Martin Couvra by two strokes.
About Circolo Golf Torino
Circolo Golf Torino plays 7,214 yards as a par 71. The Italian Open was last played at Circolo 12 years ago. The golf club features two 18-hole courses – the Blue Course is the venue for this week. The course record is held by Japan’s Yuta Ikeda, who carded an eight-under 64 in 2006.
Who to Watch at the 2026 DS Automobiles 83 Open d’Italia
Saddier will look to defend his title against a field that includes 19 Italian players. Former major champion Francesco Molinari is a two-time winner of his national open and Circolo Golf Torino is his home club. “The national open for anyone is already special but playing it where you grew up adds an extra layer of emotions that we will both feel out there on the course”.
Molinari’s brother, Edoardo, will also be playing this week. This will be his 444th start on the DP World Tour.
We predict Joaquin Niemann will win the Italian Open. In his last two starts not on LIV, he finished T18 at the PGA Championship and T7 at at the U.S. Open last week.
