The Genesis Invitational has been a PGA Tour event for 100 years, with its first playing in 1926 at Los Angeles Country Club. The Rivera Country Club has hosted this event 60 times but will make its return after a one-year hiatus when the event had to be moved to Torrey Pines Golf Course due to the Los Angeles area wildfires last year.

The second Signature Event of the season is the last tournament of the west coast swing of the schedule. Unlike last week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, there is a 36-hole cut this week.

In last year’s tournament, Ludvig Åberg defeated Maverick McNealy by one shot to win his second career PGA Tour title. The last time Rivera Country Club hosted the event in 2024, Hideki Matsuyama defeated Luke List and Will Zalatoris by three shots to secure his victory.

About The Rivera Country Club

The Rivera Country Club plays just over 7,300 as a par 71. Ted Tryba holds the course record of 61 (-10) during round three of the 1991 tournament. The course has hosted three previous men’s majors and will host this year’s U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally in June. It will also host the men’s and women’s golf tournaments in the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Who to Watch the 2026 at the 2026 Genesis Invitational

The field includes Åberg, Tommy Fleetwood, Sepp Straka and Viktor Hovland. We predict Matsuyama will pick up another win at the Genesis Invitational. He is coming off a T8 finish last week and a runner-up finish two weeks ago at the WM Phoenix Open.
