The 2026 Nexo Championship is the last event in the Closing Swing portion of the DP World Tour schedule. The leader in points during the Closing Swing receives an exemption into the Back 9 tournaments and the 2026 BMW PGA Championship. The Back 9 tournaments are the final nine tournaments on the DP World Tour schedule before the playoffs begin.
In the 2025 Nexo Championship, Grant Forrest won by four strokes to secure his second career DP World Tour title.
About the Old Course at Trump International Golf Links
The Old Course at Trump International Golf Links plays 7,437 yards as a par 72 along the North Sea shoreline of Scotland. The links layout provides a difficult test thanks to the windy conditions coming off the coast. In last year’s tournament, only nine players finished the week under par. Fifteen of the 18 holes played over par with the 651-yard 18th being the toughest par five on the 2025 Race to Dubai.
Forrest set the course record at 66 (-6) in last year’s event.
Who to Watch at the 2026 Nexo Championship
Race to Dubai Leader Patrick Reed is one of six winners from this season in the field. Forrest is one of 15 Scottish golfers in the field looking to win in their home country. John Daly II, the son of major champion John Daly, will be making his professional debut after a four-year collegiate career at the University of Arkansas.
Defending champion Forrest is aiming to make history by becoming only the second Scot to win three times at home. “It’s great, quite strange to see my face plastered everywhere, but it’s great to be back,” said Forrest. “Great memories from last year and after a five-week break as well, it’s nice to get back playing.”
Forrest recently took time off for a surgery on his sinuses and is looking forward to testing his game this week.
We predict Scottish golfer Ewen Ferguson will earn his fourth career title on the DP World Tour. He finished T9 in last week’s event and has four other top-10 finishes this season.
