The Texas Children’s Houston Open was first played in 1946. The event is being played in the spring for the third consecutive year after four years of being a fall event on the PGA Tour.
Memorial Park Golf Course is hosting the tournament for the sixth consecutive year after being renovated in 2019. The top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking through the Texas Children’s Houston Open will qualify for the Masters Tournament if not already exempt. The winners of the next two PGA Tour events will also qualify for the Masters if not otherwise exempt (next week: Valero Texas Open).
In the 2025 Texas Children’s Houston Open, Min Woo Lee defeated Scottie Scheffler and Gary Woodland by one stroke to earn his first career win.
About Memorial Park Golf Course
Memorial Park Golf Course is a municipal golf course that plays 7,475 yards as a par 70. The course record is 62, most recently shot by Scheffler in last year’s second round. The course will also hold The Chevron Championship, the first major of the LPGA Tour, in April.
Who to Watch at the 2026 Texas Children’s Houston Open
18 of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking are in the field headlined by Chris Gotterup and Ben Griffin. We predict Brooks Koepka will pick up his first PGA Tour win since rejoining the tour. In his last three starts, he has gone T9-T13-T18 and is first on Tour in strokes gained: approach to green. Koepka was also the player consultant for the 2019 course renovation done by Tom Doak.
Scottie Scheffler would have been one to watch here in his home state, but he has withdrawn due to expecting the birth of his second child.
