Friday’s round opened with some rain drizzling down on players and overcast skies. While there wasn’t a ton of rain, some players in the morning wave took advantage of the softer greens and went low. The afternoon wave saw some wind but not enough to prevent some players from making plenty of birdies.

Morning Wave Leaders
In the morning wave, Florida State’s Lottie Woad (pictured above), a sophomore from Farnham, England, and Clemson’s Isabella Rawl, a sophomore from Lexington, SC, battled for the individual lead. After several handoffs and an equal number of birdies (8), Woad took the ultimate lead with a 7-under 65; Rawl shot 66 (-6).
Rawl’s score helped Clemson clench and maintain the team lead after the morning wave at 8-under.
Afternoon Wave Leaders
In the afternoon, Sophie Linder, an Ole Miss freshman from Carthage, Tenn., kicked off her round with three consecutive birdies, shooting 4-under on her front nine. Tied for 2nd individually at one point, a couple bogeys at the end left her in a five-way tie for third at 4-under overall.
Texas A&M’s Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio, a freshman from Madrid, Spain, also had a hot start with four birdies on her front nine, but she too finished at 4-under alongside teammate Adela Cernousek.

We also caught Virginie Ding, a Vanderbilt senior from Hong Kong, China, making a birdie on par-3 hole 3 to help her ultimately land 1-under for the day and add to her count of 7 total birdies today.
