Steven Fisk defeated Garrick Higgo by two strokes to win the Sanderson Farms Championship. Fisk is a PGA Tour rookie, and this is first career win in just his 24th career start.
Earlier this week, Higgo held a two-shot lead over Fisk and Danny Walker heading into the final round. Higgo shot a 5-under 67 to maintain his 36-hole lead. Walker also shot a 5-under 67 while Fisk shot a 7-under 65 during the third round.
On the front nine, Fisk shot a 3-under 33 to get to 19-under. Higgo shot a 2-under 34 to get to 20-under and give himself a one-shot lead heading to the back nine.
Higgo made a bogey on the 10th and 11th holes to fall to 18-under and lose his lead. Fisk birdied the 11th hole to give himself a two-shot lead. Higgo bounced back with four straight birdies on holes 13 to 16 to get to 22-under. Fisk answered Higgo’s birdies on the 14th and 16th to tie Higgo at 22-under atop the leaderboard.
On the 17th hole, Fisk hit his approach shot from 103 yards to just under three feet for a tap-in birdie and the lead with one hole to play. Higgo missed his short three-foot birdie putt on the 17th to tie the lead. On the 18th hole, Fisk once again hit his approach shot to three feet for another tap-in birdie to defeat Higgo by two strokes.
Fisk birdied nine holes – four in his last five holes – to shoot the low round of the day of 64 (-8). With his win, Fisk moved to 65th in the FedExCup Fall standings. Players ranked 51-60 will earn automatic berths into the two early 2026 signature events.
The PGA Tour heads to Japan next week for the Baycurrent Classic in Yokohama. Nico Echavarria will look to defend his title against a field that includes Max Homa, Wyndham Clark, Tony Finau and Sungjae Im.
