The LPGA begins its season this week at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. The tournament will be held at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, Florida. This is the last tournament the state of Florida will host for the LPGA Tour until November.

A Lim Kim looks to defend her title after her two-stroke victory over Nelly Korda at the same course last year. 2025’s celebrity division winner, Joe Pavelski from the NHL, will not be defending his title this year.

Lake Nona Golf and Country Club is a par 72 playing 6,624 yards. The tournament’s purse has remained the same from last year at $2.1 million and there is no cut.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions

The first tournament of the season has a star-studded field with most of the top players in the world participating. A notable absence from the tournament this week is world number three, Minjee Lee.

World number one, Jeeno Thitikul, looks to build off a successful season where she won the CME Group Tour Championship for the second consecutive year. Thitikul dealt with a wrist injury towards the end of last year but is ready to go this week. She explained her decision to play this week instead of starting her season later in Thailand.

I mean, it’s kind of tough for me to come overseas from Thailand to here, just especially for one week. Our responsibility is to the sponsor, too, and to the celebrities, to the Tour,” she said. “I think they love to see us; they love to see all the top players that show up here. I don’t think they expect the result that much, but they expect us to have fun with all the celebrities and then to enjoy it in a unique environment and unique tournament and format.”

What’s unique about the Tournament of Champions is that the LPGA Tour players will have celebrities in their pairings all week. A modified Stableford celebrity tournament will be taking place alongside the LPGA tournament this week, even though their pairings are combined. Names like Annika Sorenstam, Brandi Chastain, Blake Griffin and Emmitt Smith headline the list of celebrities this week.
