The WM Phoenix Open has been a PGA Tour event since 1932 with a couple sabbaticals over the years. The event has become famous for the raucous environment, especially on the par-3 16th hole nicknamed “The Coliseum.” Often referred to as “The People’s Open,” the event is one of the most popular events on the tour. The field is set to include 10 former major champions.

Thomas Detry became the first Belgian to win on the PGA Tour when won the 2025 WM Phoenix open by seven shots. However, he will not be defending his title this year due to his move to LIV Golf.

About TPC Scottsdale

TPC Scottsdale has been the host site of the WM Phoenix Open since 1987. The course plays just over 7,200 yards as a par 71. The 72-hole tournament scoring record is 258 (-28) shot by 2013 champion Phil Mickelson and 2001 champion Mark Calcavecchia. The 18-hole course record is 60, shot by five golfers; most recently, Nick Taylor held this honor after shooting 60 in his first round in 2024 on his way to victory.

Who to Watch at the 2026 WM Phoenix Open

The field will include previous champions Hideki Matsuyama, Brooks Koepka, Scottie Scheffler and Rickie Fowler. Eleven of the top 20 in the Official World Golf Ranking will be teeing it up this week in Scottsdale as well.

We predict Si Woo Kim will pick up his fifth career PGA Tour title. In his first three starts of the 2026 season, he has gone T11, T6 and T2. In his last two starts in Scottsdale, he has finished T21 and T12.
