The LPGA resumes this week after being off for two weeks at the Honda LPGA Thailand. This is the first of three tournaments being held in Asia over the next three weeks. The tournament will be held at Siam Country Club (Old Course) in Pattaya, Chonburi, Thailand, and has been held there every year but two since 2007. This is the 19th playing of the Honda LPGA Classic.

American Angel Yin looks to defend her title after her victory over Japan’s Akie Iwai in a shootout last year.

Siam Country Club is a par 72 playing 6,649 yards. The tournament’s purse has increased by $100,000 from $1.7 million in 2025 to $1.8 million in 2026.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Honda LPGA Thailand

Thai national and world number one, Jeeno Thitikul, makes her second start of the season this week. After her second consecutive CME Group Tour Championship victory, she looks to have a strong start to her season. Thitikul is one of eight Thai players in the field this week. She had this to say about returning to this tournament as world number one.

“To be able to play as a world No. 1 in my hometown, which is kind of meaningful not just to me, but to be honest, for the teams and then for all the Thai people who can be proud,” she said.

Thitikul also says that for kids watching, this level is not out of reach.

“It’s just an example to all the kids that it’s not impossible. Everything is possible for you to be able to play alongside all the other countries, other players, and you can be there at the point that you never thought about,” she said.

Defending champion Angel Yin is also making her second start of the season this week. After a challenging stretch of golf recently, Yin was blunt when asked about this week.

“I think my game was better last year than it is now. Kind of struggling right now. But you never know; sometimes a miracle does happen,” she said.

Along with Thitikul and Yin, 19 of the remaining 23 players in the Rolex rankings are in the field this week.
