The Puerto Rico Open has been a tournament on the PGA Tour schedule since 2008. This event is one of three alternate field events for those not playing in a Signature Event or major.

The winner of an alternate field event receives 300 FedExCup points, down from the normal 500 points from a full-field event, and a two-year PGA Tour exemption. The purse is smaller, and fewer Official World Golf Ranking points are earned at these events.

In the 2025 Puerto Rico Open, Karl Vilips picked up his first career win by defeating Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen by three strokes.

About Grand Reserve Golf Club

The Grand Reserve Golf Club plays 7,506 yards as a par 72. The golf course stretches along the Grand Reserve beachfront peninsula with the El Yunque rainforest as a backdrop. The course record is 62, most recently shot by Kevin Roy in the first round of last year’s tournament.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Puerto Rico Open

The field includes 2024 Puerto Rico Open winner Brice Garnett, Michael Brennan and Nick Dunlap. We predict Rasmus Hojgaard will earn his first career PGA Tour win this week. He is coming off a top 10 finish last week at the Cognizant Classic
