The Valero Texas Open has been a stop on the PGA Tour since 1922. It is the third oldest event on tour and the longest held in the same city, San Antonio.

Valero Energy Corporation is a San Antonio-based company that took over the naming rights of the tournament in 2002. Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer and Ben Hogan are just a few of the notable names that have won this golf tournament.

TPC San Antonio (Oaks Course) has been the host course since 2010. The winner of this event will qualify for the 2026 Masters if not otherwise exempt.

In the 2025 Valero Texas Open, Brian Harman defeated Ryan Gerard by three strokes to pick up his fourth career PGA Tour win.

About TPC San Antonio (Oaks Course)

The Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio plays 7,438 yards as a par 72. Trey Mullinax holds the course record after shooting 62 (-10) in round three in 2018.

The fairways are wide but tree-lined, giving the players multiple strategic routes to get to the green with their approach shots. Wind can be a factor on this course with the downhill holes typically playing into the prevailing wind and uphill holes playing downwind.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Valero Texas Open

Harman will look to defend his title against a field that includes Sepp Straka, 2022 champion J.J. Spaun and 2021 champion Jordan Spieth. We predict Keith Mitchell will pick up the win in San Antonio. He has three consecutive top 20s in this event and finished T14 last week in Houston.
