The Volvo China Open has been held annually since 1995 as an event co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the China Tour. In 2015, Ashun Wu made history as the first Chinese player to win a DP World Tour event on home soil.
This is the third of four events of the Asian Swing this season. The three leading DP World Tour members at the close of the Asian Swing will qualify for the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in May.
In the 2025 Volvo China Open, Wu defeated Jordan Smith by one stroke to earn his second title at the Volvo China Open.

The Enhance Anting Golf Club plays 7,188 yards as a par 71. The course record is 62 (-9), shot by Tapio Pulkkanen last year. This Shanghai golf course features attractive bunkering and water for a challenging layout known for its risk-rewards elements.
Who to Watch at the 2026 Volvo China Open
Wu is in the field looking to win back-to-back in his home country. Alexander Levy (2014, 2017) and Adrian Otaegui (2024) are two other former champions in the field this week as well. We predict Eugenio Chacarra will win his second career DP World Tour title. In his last event, he finished second at the 2026 Hero Indian Open.
Wu said, “This tournament is very, very important to me. The first win in 2015 sent me to the DP World Tour. It was wonderful, it improved my career and I have opportunity to compete with the top players. Ten years later, I won again. It’s always very happy to win a home country’s open, so I’m very happy and proud.”
