Bernd Wiesberger defeated Adrian Otaegui by three strokes to win the 2026 Volvo China Open. The Austrian picked up his ninth career DP World Tour win but his first since the 2021 Made in HimmerLand presented by FREJA.

Wiesberger played in the final group with Otaegui, who at that point had a one-stroke lead. After the opening nine holes, Otaegui extended his lead to a comfortable three strokes, looking for his second win in three years at the Volvo China Open.

But on the back nine, the momentum shifted to Wiesberger. He birdied three of the first four holes to tie Otaegui at the top of the leaderboard. When Otaegui had a bogey and double bogey in the final two holes, Wiesberger came away with a three-stroke victory.

After an almost five-year hiatus from the winner’s circle, Wiesberger knows how much this victory means: “It changes my next couple years as well a little bit,” he commented after the round. “It gets me into the Rolex Series events again—and that’s huge for us out here—and it just makes it a lot easier… [to] play freely and get myself, hopefully, in the position to fight for number 10.”

With this win, Wiesberger moves up to 16th in the Race to Dubai Rankings. f he can finish in the top 10, he will earn his PGA Tour card for the 2027 season.

Next week, the DP World Tour heads to Türkiye for the Turkish Airlines Open. In last year’s event, Frenchmen Martin Couvra won for the first time on the DP World Tour. He will look to defend his title against a field that includes Francesco Molinari, Jayden Schaper and David Puig.
