Megan Schofill earned her first professional victory at the 2026 Carlisle Arizona Women’s Golf Classic, an Epson Tour event. She and Amari Avery were swapping places on the leaderboard throughout the final round, with Schofill ultimately taking home the trophy.

Schofill began the final round in the lead and two strokes ahead of Amari Avery and Lauren Olivares. She pulled on her winning experiences in her past to stay focused today. “I feel like it gives me confidence to know that I’ve done it before,” said Schofill. “Obviously, this is a different atmosphere than amateur golf, but no, I’ve been able to do it before, so why can’t I go out there and do it tomorrow?”

Schofill has an impressive amateur resume, from her 2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur win to her five Augusta National Women’s Amateur appearances to her storied career at Auburn. All of those experiences played into her focus and drive today.

“Coming down 18, I really was hoping I would hit the green and not have to chip, and obviously I had to chip twice, said Schofill. “Amari kind of gave me the read. So, I felt pretty good over the putt, but I definitely was very nervous. Just really wanted to close it out, did not want to have to have a playoff.”

Avery has had quite the Epson Tour experience. Similar to Nelly Korda’s current LPGA Tour streak in that she has only won or placed second so far this season. While she didn’t close the deal today, she’s excited to play in the LPGA Tour’s Mizuho Americas Open this week.

“So, I’m happy that I gave myself the opportunity to be here [on Sunday],” said Avery. “I think there’s a lot of great golf happening for me right now. And it’s nice that I got an LPGA exemption. I know it’s in the middle of a stretch, but I feel like right now is a great time to do it. I had a great week last week, had a great week this week, so I feel like I’ve got a lot of momentum behind me, so I’m really excited.”

Today ended on a high note for Schofill as she reflected back to this time last year when she was a sponsor’s invite to this event. This year, she walked away with the second largest check on the Epson Tour – $60,000.

Next for the Epson Tour is the Reliance Matrix Championship presented by Epson in Las Vegas starting May 7th.
