The Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship is being played for the second time, at Real Club de Golf El Prat in Barcelona, Spain. It hasn’t taken place since 2022, when it was played as a one-off event after the Volvo China Open was postponed. This is the first event of the European Swing portion of the DP World Tour schedule.
About Real Club de Golf El Prat Pink Course
Real Club de Golf El Prat plays 7,057 yards as a par 72. This will be the 11th time that this Greg Norman-designed course hosts a DP World Tour event. The Pink Course has been named one of the top in Spain, and is known for its large, tree-lined fairways and large greens with tricky run-off areas for players who miss them. The greenside bunkers and traps that line the fairway are brutal when players find them.
Who to Watch at the 2026 Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship
Bernd Wiesberger, Ángel Ayora and Jayden Schaper headline the field in Spain. However, we predict Alejandro Del Rey will pick up the win in his home country after finishing T29 or better in three of his last four starts.
We’ll also see local Pablo Larrazábal compete in this field. He has been a member of Real Club de Golf El Prat since he was a child. He now has his own son, who recently turned two years old.
“I cannot imagine winning in front of my wife, my friends, in front of my son,” he said. “It’s the only thing that I have left in my career – to win in front of my son. It will be a dream come true.”
