The Truist Championship, called the Wells Fargo Championship until last year, has been a PGA Tour event since 2003. This week, the event returns to its usual host site of Quail Hollow Club after a one-year hiatus due to a scheduling conflict with the PGA Championship. This is the sixth Signature Event of the 2026 season, and with that comes greater stakes, in the form of a larger purse and more FedExCup points on the line.

Alternatively, other PGA Tour members are competing at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic if they didn’t make it into this field.

In last year’s 2025 Truist Championship, Sepp Straka picked up his second win of the 2025 PGA Tour season.

About Quail Hollow Club

Quail Hollow Club plays 7,583 yards as a par 71. In preparation for last year’s PGA Championship, the greens, bunkers and tees were redone and new drainage was installed. The course record is held by Rory McIlroy, who shot 61 (-10) in the third round of the 2015 event.

The final three holes at Quail Hollow are so difficult they’re nicknamed the “Green Mile,” a reference to a Stephen King novel and movie in which a death row prisoner takes their final walk. Together, the holes play just under 1,250 yards and each feature water hazards.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Truist Championship

Straka will look to defend his title against a field that has seven of the top-10 players in the Official World Golf Ranking. We predict Xander Schauffele will earn the win this weekend. He’s coming off four straight top-12 finishes and has finished second here the last two times this event was played at Quail Hollow.
