Cholcheva Wongras not only dominated the competition at the 2026 Reliance Matrix Championship presented by Epson, but she also set the tour’s 72-hole tournament record at 26-under. She broke now-LPGA Tour players’ Jaravee Boonchant and Auston Kim’s record by three strokes.
Wongras impressed even herself with her four rounds this week. “It’s amazing,” she said. “These four rounds are the most incredible round of golf I’ve ever played, especially on the second day. It was crazy. So, I think, there was a lot of work that we put in to get here. So, it was really fun to see all the hard work pay off.”
Thailand’s Wongras had shot at 61 (-11) during her second round, allowing her to tie the 18-hole tournament record as well as the 36-hole one. She finished with a 5-under-67 today after eagling her last hole with a 45-foot putt.
“I didn’t expect the eagle at all,” she said. “My plan was going for it for in two so I was hitting my drive on the fairway, and I said I’m just going to stick to my plan and then I hit my three wood to the middle of the green and I make the long putt so I didn’t expect that at all. 45 feet right in the middle of the green.”
This win earned 19-year-old Wongras 500 points in the Race to the Card, where she now sits in 8th. The top 15 earn their LPGA Tour cards at the end of the season.
Mariel Galdiano found herself in the final group today, and while she couldn’t catch up to Wongras, she has still earned three top-10 finishes this season and is now ranked second in the Race for the Card, bumping last week’s winner Megan Schofill down to third.
Liqi Zeng came in second this week after back-to-back 63s – her personal best. You may remember Zeng as the 17-year-old who petitioned then-LPGA Tour Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan to waive the minimum age requirement to compete at the LPGA Q-Series and then placed T14 to earn her LPGA Tour card in 2024.
Another special mention is Reliance Matrix ambassador Carley Cox Pruette’s finish today. She shot 7-under to finish T35, making the cut in a competitive field.
While the Epson Tour still has one more event – the Copper Rock Championship in Utah – in their West Coast swing next week before a break, it’s clear the season is truly only just beginning for these talented golfers.
