The 2026 Austrian Alpine Open presented by Kitzbühel Tirol will be the 32nd edition of the tournament. First played on the DP World Tour in 1990, the tournament has had two home winners. Markus Brier has won this event three times, and Bernd Wiesberger won in 2012.
The event will be played at Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith for the first time, making it the 465th venue to host a DP World Tour event. The Austrian Alpine Open is the third of six events on the European Swing that highlights the importance of National Opens on the world stage.
In the 2025 Austrian Alpine Open, Nicolai von Dellingshausen won for the first time on the DP World Tour by defeating Kristoffer Reitan and Marcel Schneider by two strokes.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Austrian Alpine Open
Seven past champions of this event will be in the field this week, including Marc Warren. Warren, who won the 2020 Austrian Open, will be making his 500th career start on the DP World Tour.
Kipp Popert, who is No. 1e on the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD), will be making his first start on the DP World Tour. Popert has a form of cerebral palsy that affects his lower back. He has won 16 times on the G4D Tour. The G4D Tour is a premier golf tour that allows golfers with disabilities to compete on the same course during the same week as professionals on the DP World Tour.
Four-time PGA Tour winner Sepp Straka will tee it up in his home country looking for his first career DP World Tour victory. We predict Straka will earn that victory this week among family and friends. Straka talked about what it would be like to win this tournament:
“That would be incredible to win my national open. Growing up, I always went to the Austrian Open. Just being able just to play here, it’s incredible and winning it would be really special.”
