Alex Noren held off Nicolai Hojgaard and Kazuma Kobori to win the Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo. He is the first two-time winner of the tournament since Ian Woosnam in 1994.

Entering the final round, 2022 U.S. Open Champion Matthew Fitzpatrick was in the lead at 12-under. Noren trailed by one shot, with Marco Penge and Nicolai Hojgaard trailing by two. Fitzpatrick did not have his best game today, hitting only 50% of greens, leading to a round of 74 (+2). Noren started his round with two birdies in his first three holes en route to a front-nine 35 (-1). Noren made five birdies in his first eight holes on the back nine. He secured the victory with a bogey on the last hole.

“I don’t think I’ve played like this for a very long time,” Noren said after his victory. “Extremely proud of myself.”

Rasmus Hojgaard earned himself a spot on the European Ryder Cup team after his finish of T13. R. Hojgaard secured enough points to jump both Shane Lowry and Sepp Straka to claim the last auto-qualifying spot for the team.

With his win, Noren earned 835 points in the season-long competition, Race to Dubai. He also took home €513,490.95 in prize money.

The DP World Tour resumes next week at the Omega European Masters in Crans Montana, Switzerland. Americans Wyndham Clark and Patrick Rodgers will join the top players on the DP World Tour in the competition.
