Collin Morikawa has his first PGA Tour win since the 2023 Baycurrent classic 848 days ago at the 2026 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He defeated Min Woo Lee and Sepp Straka by one shot to pick up his 7th career PGA Tour win in his 145th career start.
The wind wreaked havoc all day and caused multiple lead changes throughout the final round. Morikawa fought off the conditions and opponents with three birdies in his final four holes to claim the victory.
However, that’s not all Morikawa has to celebrate. Speaking with Amanda Balionis on the green after his win, Morikawa revealed that he and his wife Kat are expecting their first child this spring.
Known for his superior ball striking, Morikawa led the field in strokes gained tee to green (12.600) and approach to green (9.681). His third round of 10-under-62 was highlighted by hitting all 18 greens in regulation. That round put him two shots behind leader Akshay Bhatia heading into the final round.
Morikawa needed a birdie on the 18th hole to secure his victory. After hitting his tee shot in the fairway, he had to wait 20 minutes before he hit his approach shot. In the group in front of him, Jacob Bridgeman hit his approach shot into the beach and then hit his ball from the pebbles into the ocean after bouncing off rocks. With the group ahead of him finally done, Morikawa hit a 4-iron to the collar of the green. He two-putted from 26 feet for his first victory in two and a half years.
Morikawa had this to say about staying patient when the wins aren’t coming:
“It’s not easy, it really isn’t. I mean, shoot, I did that through ’23, from ’21 to ’23, ’23 to ’26. You hear it, you see it, you know it. Like I’m not shying away from it, but it’s hard to look straight in the face and say, man, when is this going to end?”
Scottie Scheffler finished T4 to tie Tiger Woods’ record of most consecutive starts finishing T4 or better (8). His final round of 63 included three eagles for the first time in his PGA Tour career.
The PGA Tour heads down the coast for the Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The tournament returns to The Rivera Country Club after the wildfires caused the tournament to be played at Torrey Pines last year. Ludvig Aberg will look to defend his title in another Signature Event field that includes all the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Rankings.
