Daniel Brown recorded his second DP World Tour win at Golfclub München Eichenried after scoring 22-under to lift the 2025 BMW International Open trophy.

Brown began the final round one shot ahead of Jordan Smith after carding an impressive 7-under 65 on Saturday. The Englishman recorded six birdies and a spectacular eagle on the 16th, a short par 4.

On Sunday, 30-year-old Brown showed no signs of giving up the title. He started his round with back-to-back birdies and then parred the next two holes before recording another pair of birdies.

Meanwhile, Smith started strong with five birdies on the front nine but then struggled on the back, bogeying the 10th, 13th and 14th holes. Brown kept a cool head, with one birdie and a bunch of pars on his way to the 18th.

Walking to the final tee, Brown was two strokes ahead of Smith and hit the fairway off the tee. His next shot came as a surprise—rather than laying up on the par five, he played a risky 3-wood shot, landing the ball 20 feet from the hole.

Smith also landed on the green in two but was unable to sink the eagle putt, finishing with a birdie to post a 5-under 67, 20-under overall for the tournament. Brown, who won the 2023 ISPS HANDA World Invitational, two-putted for birdie and a bogey-free round of 6-under to clinch the win.

“I lost a friend at home last weekend. I don’t know what to say, really, but that was for him,” said Brown. “The last two days I’ve been thinking about him to try and take my mind off it, obviously, try not to get too emotional in the process.”

“I’m not too sure what happened today like all day, it was an out-of-body experience. Obviously nerves, and then thinking about the importance of winning a golf tournament. It sort of played it down with what happened, I suppose he was there with me, and it made it a lot easier,” said Brown, filled with emotions.

It was also an exciting time for Haotong Li (China), John Parry (England), Daniel Hillier (New Zealand), Shaun Norris (South Africa) and Kristoffer Reitain (Norway), all of whom qualified for the 153rd Open through the Race to Dubai Rankings.

“It means a lot. It’s like an in-season kind of ranking, and good names have won the Swings so far, so I’m happy to be among those names. I’m looking forward to it (The Open) like crazy,” said Reitan, the 2025 Soudal Open winner.
