Heading into the Saturday Foursomes morning session of the 2025 Ryder Cup, Europe held a three-point lead over America. The Europeans sent out the same four foursome pairings as they did Friday morning, just in a different order. Team USA sent out three of the four same pairings they did Friday morning with the one change being Cameron Young subbing in for Justin Thomas as Bryson DeChambeau’s partner.
Team Europe sent out Matt Fitzpatrick and Ludvig Aberg in the first match to go against DeChambeau and Young. The American duo made four birdies on the front nine versus the European’s two birdies. DeChambeau made a par putt on the 10th hole to increase their lead to 3 UP. They closed out the Europeans on the 16th hole to win 4&2 and put the first American point on the board on Saturday.

In the second match, Team USA sent out Collin Morikawa and Harris English against Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood for the second day in a row. The Americans took a 1 UP lead after the first hole, but their deficit grew to 4 DOWN by the ninth hole. Fleetwood missed a short par putt to lose the 14th hole and English made a birdie on the 15th hole to cut their deficit to 2 DOWN. Fleetwood redeemed himself from that missed par on the 14th hole with a birdie on the 16th hole to win another point for Europe, 3&2.
Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay played Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton in the third match of the day. The Europeans took a quick 2 UP lead after the first two holes, but the Americans got the match to all square after the seventh hole. Rahm made a birdie on the eighth hole and Hatton made one on the 12th to go 2 UP. Rahm hit his approach shot to three feet for a tap-in birdie for Hatton that won the match 3&2 for Team Europe.

The final match saw Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley take on Viktor Hovland and Robert MacIntyre. The Europeans were 2 UP after the first 10 holes. Scheffler’s birdie on hole 11 and Henley’s on the 13th brought the match to all square. The Europeans’ birdie on the 14th gave them a 1 UP lead with four holes to go. Hovland sank a 12-foot par putt on the 17th to keep the Europeans 1 UP heading to the 18th hole. Both teams made par, giving the Europeans the win 1 UP.
After three sessions, Team Europe is leading Team USA 8.5-3.5. Check out the Saturday afternoon pairings.
