Jayden Schaper defeated Ryan Gerard on the second playoff hole to win for the second consecutive week. Schaper just won the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

Gerard and Casey Jarvis were tied at 16-under heading into the final round of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. Jarvis held a share of the lead after each of the first three rounds. Gerard shot a nine-under-63 that included five straight birdies on the back nine to gain a share of the lead. Schaper started the final round two shots back of the leaders.

Gerard led Schaper by two shots after the front nine. He birdied four holes to shoot a 4-under-32. Schaper also shot a 4-under but with two birdies and an eagle.

Schaper started early on the back nine by making a birdie on the 11th hole to get to 19-under and one shot behind Gerard. But Gerard birdied the 12th hole to regain his two-shot lead. Schaper birdied three of his final four holes to set the clubhouse lead at 22-under. After his birdie on the 12th hole, Gerard parred five holes in a row. He needed a birdie on the 18th hole to force the playoff, which he managed after getting up-and-down from a greenside bunker.

Gerard and Schaper went to the 18th tee for the first playoff hole. Both players made par and headed back to the 18th tee to play the second hole of the playoff. Schaper chipped in for eagle to win his second event in as many weeks.

In his last three starts, Schaper has finished T2,1st and 1st. With these three finishes, he came out on top of the DP World Tour’s Opening Swing standings. For Gerard, his second-place finish moved him inside the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings. This is important because the top 50 in the world at the end of the year will earn invitations to the Masters.

The next event for the DP World Tour is the Dubai Invitational January 15-18, 2026, where Tommy Fleetwood is the defending champion.
