After a season of excellent golf, Jeeno Thitikul has a trophy to show for it. Her bogey-free final round of 69 propelled her to her first victory of the 2025 season at the Mizuho Americas Open.
Thitikul entered the final round with a one-shot lead over France’s Celine Boutier and a two-shot lead over world number one Nelly Korda. Korda got her score to 14-under, but did not have her best game on the back nine, ultimately shooting a one-over 73. In the final pairing, Thitikul’s mistake-free play earned her a four-shot lead at the turn. The world number two closed it out from there with all pars on the back nine with the exception of a birdie on 17.

After finishing last season with seven consecutive top ten finishes, Thitikul continued her great play with a win and five top-10s in eight starts this season. The win at the Mizuho Americas Open is her fifth LPGA Tour win at just 22 years old. Here’s what she said on her fifth win.
“Well, I think when I was a kid wanting to play on the LPGA Tour, I just told my dad, and my dad just told me, winning on the LPGA Tour once, it’s good enough. I always tell myself, yeah, actually two. I joined the Tour in 2022 and then got the first win on maybe my fifth start from the beginning of the season, and then to get my first win was just really a dream come true. But I had no idea I’d be going this far for sure. I’m just trying to do my part. I’m just trying to improve myself every day. Winning or not, I’m just — I think the real win that I have, it’s all the people around me,” she said.
With her win, Thitikul moved to first place in the Race to CME Globe standings ahead of Hyo Joo Kim. She earned $450,000, which moves her into the top-25 on the LPGA all-time career earnings list with over $10 million in earnings.
The LPGA Tour has a week off next week but will return the weekend of May 22nd with the inaugural playing of the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. It will be the first time the LPGA has held an event in Mexico in eight years.
