Kupcho entered the final round trailing by one after shooting the low round of the day along with Madison Young with a 64 (-7) on Saturday. Ilhee Lee was in front with Mao Saigo, Ayaka Furue, Elizabeth Szokol and Kupcho one shot behind. Kupcho was on fire, going out with a 34 (-3) on the front nine with four birdies. Lee had a rough start to her round with three bogeys on the front nine, shooting a 39 (+2). However, Lee caught fire, shooting a 29 (-5) on the back nine. It wasn’t enough to catch Kupcho, who finished her round with three birdies in her final five holes, including the winning birdie on 18.
With her win, Kupcho takes home $262,000 in prize money and 500 points in the Race to CME Globe. She moves into the top 20 in the rankings for the season.
The LPGA Tour will travel to Michigan next week for the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give at Blythefield Country Club. Last year’s winner, Lilia Vu, will look to defend her title.
