Justin Rose goes wire-to-wire to win the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open. Pierceson Coody, Si Woo Kim and Ryo Hisatsune finished in a tie for second at 16-under, 7 strokes behind Rose.
Rose started the day with a six-shot lead and never let it slip away. He maintained his large lead on the front nine, going out in 33. He didn’t make one bogey on the front nine all week.
The only blemish during Rose’s fourth round was a bogey on the 12th hole. He made par the last six holes to win his second title at Torrey Pines. He is the first wire-to-wire winner (no ties) at the Farmers Insurance Open since Tommy Bolt did it in 1955.
For Rose, this win is his 13th career PGA Tour win, the most by any player from England. At 45 years old, he is the oldest player to win a PGA Tour event by 6 shots or more since Sam Snead won the 1961 Tournament of Champions by 7 strokes at the age of 49. Rose also broke the tournament scoring record previously held by George Burns and Tiger Woods.
Rose was asked about what else he is chasing in his career in the post-tournament press conference. “Yeah, majors is where I have my attention, for sure. I mean, obviously, I take — like I said, I’ve achieved a lot in the game, but I’ve achieved a lot of it just once. So I’ll take multiple of anything that I’ve achieved for sure would be great.”
Hisatsune’s runner-up finish is the best finish of his career in 65 starts. Dahmen recorded his third career top-10 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open. Coody’s 7-under-65 was the low round of the day and propelled him to his second career runner-up finish. He is now leading the Aon Swing 5 leaderboard, which will get him into the first two signature events of 2026.
Brooks Koepka finished T56 in his first start on the PGA Tour since 2022. Two-time major champion and San Diego native Xander Schauffele had the longest streak of cuts made at 72 until this week. Scottie Scheffler now owns the longest active cut streak at 65.
The next stop on the PGA Tour is Scottsdale, Arizona, for the WM Phoenix Open. The 2025 champion, Thomas Detry, is now on the LIV Golf tour and will not be in the field. The field does include several other past champions like Scottie Scheffler, Rickie Fowler, Hideki Matsuyama and Koepka.
