Yani Tseng is back atop a leaderboard, and it was at an event she has been waiting years to win.

Tseng is the youngest player to ever win five major championships – her last being in 2011 at the Ricoh British Women’s Open at age 22 – and was world number one for two years in a row back in 2011-2013.

“I’ve been waiting for this trophy for so long,” said Tseng. “To win this tournament in my home country and in front of my family and friends is amazing. I’ve been really emotional from this win, and just shows you should never give up on your dreams.”

The 2025 Wistron Ladies Open was shortened to 36 holes due to poor weather, but that didn’t stop Tseng from firing a ton of birdies. She carded eight birdies, five of which were in a row, on Sunday to go from being tied in the lead to dominating the competition.

This is Tseng’s first win since 2014 and was won at the Sunrise Golf and Country Club, where she has played since she was 14 years old.

“It’s been a very long time since I’ve felt this,” said Tseng. “I’m so grateful for my fans, friends, and family all cheering me on. It really helped with them on the course and gave me a lot of confidence throughout the last couple of days. Until the last hole, I wasn’t sure if the scores were correct on the board. It’s been such a long time to be able to stand in this position.”

Tseng now has an option to regain full LET membership.

The LET is off next week but will continue their Asian swing at the Mission Hills China event.
