Richard Mansell birdied the final hole to claim his first DP World Tour victory. After an entertaining final round, Keita Nakajima birdied the final hole to be the leader in the clubhouse at 15-under. Mansell then fired back with a birdie on the final hole to win just 40 minutes later.

Mansell had this to say after his monumental first win:
“God I wish it had come earlier. What a feeling just to get into that position I played so well today. First week with a new caddie so that was a good start and he just a couple of times got me to slow down and yeah just makes them near misses and when I’ve gotten ahead of myself in the past just kind of worth it and it just means that much more,” he said.
Mansell found himself behind by one stroke going into the final round with 6 players within one stroke of the lead. He followed up his 66 on Saturday by shooting a 66 again on Sunday. Mansell will receive 585 points in the Race to Dubai and €392,299.22 in prize money. He jumps up into the top 10 in the Race to Dubai standings from 84th.
The DP World Tour will resume next week at the Hero Indian Open in New Delhi, India. Mansell will look to follow up his first tour win with another strong weekend.
