Samuel Simpson shot an impressive bogey-free round on Sunday at Nkana Golf Club to earn his first Sunshine Tour victory. The South African carded a 69 (-3) to finish 11-under to win the 2025 Mopani Zambia Open.

Second on the leaderboard was Herman Loubser, who’d had a good run before struggling in the final round. Loubser entered the weekend with a three-shot lead after shooting 67 (-5) in the first and second rounds.

Loubser continued his dominance in the third round, shooting a bogey-free 68 to start the final round 5 strokes clear of South African Hennie Otto. Simpson, who had shot 72 (E), 65 (-7) and 71 (-1) in the starting rounds, was tied third with Ethan Smith.

On Sunday, Loubser shot a final round of 76 (+4) with three bogeys and one double bogey. Meanwhile, Simpson limited his mistakes, rising to 11-under to tie the lead on the 17th hole.

It looked like the two players would’ve gone into a playoff, but Loubser made a bogey on the 18th, giving away the victory to Simpson.

Simpson is now the second maiden winner on the Sunshine Tour after Mexican Luis Carrera, who won the FBC Zimbabwe Open.
