With the season finale also comes the suspenseful conclusion of the LET Order of Merit battle between Shannon Tan and Rookie of the Year Mimi Rhodes. While Rhodes had the potential to win both accolades this season, she fell just shy of Tan by 183.01 points.
Tan finished T16 this week and became the first player from Singapore to win the Order of Merit title.
“It means a lot to be the first person from Singapore to win the Order of Merit on the LET,” added Tan. “Hopefully, that gets juniors back home to try out golf and more will come through and play professionally as well.”
“It’s always great to have one person that’s done it and it shows that it’s possible,” continued Tan. “It pushes me to do my best and I want to be a role model for everyone back home.”
Some of Tan’s accomplishments from her two years on tour include winning her professional debut on the LET in 2024, representing Singapore at the 2024 Paris Olympics and adding two more wins (Amundi German Masters, Hero Women’s Indian Open) on the LET to her 2025 season – as a 21-year-old.
“This wouldn’t have happened without all the people who have been there throughout my whole career. I want to thank my parents, my coach, my manager and my caddie Simon – who has been great this year – and to the LET and everyone who makes all the tournaments possible. I’m really thankful for everything.”
LET Board Chair Marta Figueras-Dotti responded, “It takes grit and determination to win this prestigious title, and Shannon has shown consistency throughout the 2025 season, this title is a further reward for the hard work she has put in to become a champion.”
