Stefano Mazzoli earned his first career PGA Tour victory at the 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship. He defeated Gordon Sargent and Todd Clements by one stroke for the win.
Mazzoli started the final round four strokes behind the leader, making his victory the largest come-from-behind victory in tournament history. The 29-year-old from Italy earned this win in just his third career PGA Tour start, joining Alex Fitzpatrick as a non-PGA-tour-member winner this season.
With this victory, Mazzoli earned a PGA Tour card through 2027 and moved all the way up to No. 39 in the DP World Tour Race to Dubai Rankings. In his post-round press conference, Mazzoli was asked how it felt to be a PGA Tour winner.
“I’m happy to be here, happy to do it with my friend, Federico, and I’m just grateful and honored to win on Tour,” he said. “That was a dream since I was a kid.”
Former PGA Tour University graduates Ben James and Gordon Sargent both finished in the top 5. Sargent’s T2 finish and James T4 finish are the highest of their careers.
The PGA Tour heads to Minnesota next for the 3M Open, with three weeks remaining in the regular season. In the 2025 3M Open, Kurt Kitayama won by one stroke for his second career PGA Tour win. Kitayama will look to defend his title against a field that includes former major champions Scottie Scheffler, Hideki Matsuyama, Gary Woodland and Jason Day.
