The LPGA Tour resumes its west coast swing this week at the JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro. The tournament will be held at El Caballero Country Club in Los Angeles, California. This will be the last chance for players to sharpen their game before the first major of the season, the Chevron Championship.
This is the ninth edition of the tournament and the fourth year with JM Eagle and Plaspro as sponsors. Last year, Sweden’s Ingrid Lindblad defeated Akie Iwai by one stroke for her first and only win on the LPGA Tour thus far.
El Caballero Country Club is a par 72 playing 6,679 yards. The tournament’s purse has remained the same from last year at $3.75 million.
Who to Watch at the 2026 JM Eagle LA Championship presented by Plastpro
With the absence of Nelly Korda and Jeeno Thitikul, Hyo Joo Kim is the highest-ranked golfer in the field this week. Kim already has two victories this season at the Fortinet Founders Cup and at the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass. Kim leads the LPGA Tour in birdies made with 105, and is second in total strokes gained.
Last year’s winner, Ingrid Lindblad, is looking to defend her title after her victory here. After winning in her rookie year, Lindblad has struggled to start the 2026 season, with three cuts made in five starts, with her highest finish of 23rd at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. She was open about her struggles coming into this week.
“I think I’ve judged myself a lot based on my score, so lately been trying to do things that make me feel good on and off the golf course. Been trying to do stats before I leave the golf course, so I don’t have to bring it back to the hotel room basically, and try to do things that are outside of the golf course just to kind of let it go,” she said.
Asterisk Talley and Aphrodite Deng both received sponsor invitations to the field this week. Talley and Deng are the top two-ranked golfers on the American Junior Golf Association and recently competed in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
