Thriston Lawrence won the 2026 Omega European Masters, defeating Paul Casey on the fourth playoff hole. He won the event last year and in 2022, meaning Lawrence now joins Seve Ballesteros as a three-time winner of the Omega European Masters.
Entering the final round six shots back of the leader Casey, Lawrence shot a final round 62 (-8) to set the clubhouse lead at 18-under. Casey made it to 19-under after four birdies in a five hole stretch, only to bogey the 72nd hole and set up the playoff with Lawrence.
The two played the 18th hole three times, and both made par each time. On the fourth playoff hole, Casey missed a birdie chip-in and Lawrence sank a 24-foot birdie putt for the win. Lawrence now has six DP World Tour wins, three of which are from this event.
“It’s amazing to play in a golf tournament that I think is the longest ever that’s hosted at the same golf course, and to share three [wins] with Seve,” Lawrence commented after the round, “I never met him but I’ve always seen clips of him.”
Next on the DP World Tour is the Amgen Irish Open, which Rory McIlroy won last year after a playoff with Joakim Lagergren, making for his second national open victory. This year, the field includes stars from the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV: Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, Patrick Reed and Alex Fitzpatrick, to name a few.
