Yuri Yoshida overcame a four-shot deficit for her first win on the LPGA Tour.

Going into the final day of the 2026 BMW Ladies Championship, two-time major winner Haeran Ryu had a four-shot lead over Minji Park, Hye-Jin Choi and Yoshida. It was an uncharacteristic day for Ryu, who recorded 15 straight pars to start her round. Yoshida surged into first place after seven holes, making three birdies and an eagle. Yoshida bogeyed the 15th, and Ryu bogeyed the 16th. Both then finished the same way, making birdie on 17 and bogey on 18. This is Yoshida’s first win after 65 starts.

“It’s a special moment for me, and actually, I was nervous. But at this moment, I’m really happy,” said Yoshida.

Although Yoshida dealt with nerves for her first LPGA win, she has experience winning tournaments, with four wins on the JLPGA Tour. She is just the fourth first-time winner this season.

With her win, Yoshida earned $352,500 in prize money and 500 points in the Race to CME Globe. She is projected to move into 16th place in the standings.

Ryu and Choi finished in a tie for second after two different final rounds. Choi made four birdies and a bogey to move into second, while Ryu was unable to secure the win.

The LPGA Tour continues its Asian swing this week at the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Miyu Yamashita will be in the field to defend her title at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club.
