Yuto Katsuragawa won the 2026 Genesis Championship to secure his spot in the DP World Tour Play-Offs. This the 28-year-old’s second career win, after he clinched the 2024 ISPS Handa Championship.

The Japanese golfer came into the week ranked 106th in the Race to Dubai Rankings, just hoping to keep his card for next year. The win moved him to 28th in the rankings and into the two Rolex Series events to end the season.

Katsuragawa shot a final round of even par to defeat Frédéric  Lacroix and Martin Couvra by two strokes. Heading into this week, Katsuragawa had only one top-10 finish during the year at the 2026 Hainan Classic. In his last six starts, he missed the cut three times and finished no higher than T27 the other three starts.

“I’m very happy because to play on the DP World Tour is something I need in my life and I am very happy to play in Dubai,” Katsuragawa said after his win.

Meanwhile, Sean Crocker finished 34th after a back nine 29 (-6). The back nine secured his spot on the DP World Tour after finishing 100th on the Race to Dubai Rankings. Crocker finished T13 and T15 in his last two starts to help to start his upward climb on the points list. In his 16 cuts made this season he has no top-10 finishes.

“A lot was going through my mind on that golf course today. I needed to play good,” said Crocker.

The DP World Tour resumes play with the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship the first week of November. This is the first event in the DP World Tour Play-Offs, with the top 70 in the Race to Dubai Rankings eligible to play.
