The University of Virginia is hosting one of the 6 NCAA Regional sites for women’s golf this week, which means we get to be on site this week.
12 teams and 6 individuals are playing Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, VA. This process is taking place across the 6 different qualifying sites today through Wednesday. All sites must complete 54 holes in order to approve the players’ advancement to the final stage.
The ultimate goal at each site: place in the top 5 as a team to advance to the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship in Carlsbad, Calif., in a couple weeks or be the top individual outside of those 5 teams that earns her way to the big stage.
