In a stellar performance, Haeran Ryu claimed her first victory of the season at the inaugural playing of the Black Desert Championship. After Ryu shot a first-round 63, she never looked back, going wire to wire for the victory.

Ryu entered the final round leading by two strokes over China’s Ruoning Yin. There was never an opening for Yin as Ryu hit every fairway in the final round while making no scores worse than par. She finished the round carding the lowest score of the day with a 64. She had this to say after her victory after a runner-up last week.
“Yeah, last week on final round my shot is so bad there, so I just call my Korean coach every day. I ask him, what’s the problem? What’s it mean? What’s the problem for me? He said, no problem, Haeran. Just keep focus and keep calm and more trust your golf. Yeah, that’s good for me. And then more consistence my shot and came back to win here,” she said.
This is Ryu’s third victory on the LPGA Tour. She earned $450,000 with her win and brought her total for the season to $803,685. She also earned 500 points in the Race to CME Globe to move up to sixth place in the standings.
It has been a successful year for women from the Republic of Korea, clinching their third win of the season. She follows A Lim Kim and Kyo Joo Kim as winners on the LPGA Tour this season.
Ryu will be back in action next week at the Mizuho Americas Open where 2024 champion, Nelly Korda, will look to defend her title.
