The Amgen Irish Open has been played since 1927 and became part of the DP World Tour schedule in 1975. Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer and Colin Montgomerie share the honor of most Irish Open wins with three apiece. In 2025, Rory McIlroy defeated Joakim Lagergren in a playoff at The K Club to win his second Irish Open title.
This year, the event will be held at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg, Ireland. In 52 editions on the DP World Tour, the Irish Open has been hosted by 19 different venues.

Trump International Golf Links & Hotel plays 6,838 yards as par 70. The Greg Norman design opened in 2002; the Trump Organization bought the golf course in 2014, and two years later Martin Hawtree executed a major redesign. Last winter, Hawtree renovated the first tee box to make the hole a dogleg-left par-5. The 18th hole was entirely redesigned to play as an uphill par-4 to an elevated and undulating green.
Who to Watch at the 2026 Amgen Irish Open
Defending champion McIlroy headlines a challenging field that includes six of his 2025 Ryder Cup teammates, plus major winners and DP World Tour and PGA Tour stars. Jon Rahm is seeking his third Irish Open win while Shane Lowry will be looking for his second. DP World Tour winners Jayden Schaper, Casey Jarvis and Eugenio Chacarra are looking to win for the third time this season.
We predict Alex Fitzpatrick will earn his second DP World Tour win of the season. He played mostly on the PGA Tour this season after winning the 2026 Zurich Classic with his brother Matt. Alex finished the PGA Tour season ranked fourth on the FedExCup standings after six top-10 finishes in his rookie year.
