The 2026 Baycurrent Classic marks the second year with Baycurrent as title sponsor and Yokohama Country Club as host. This is the third of eight FedExCup Fall events played after the Tour Championship to finalize eligibility for the 2027 PGA Tour Season.
The tournament’s 72-player field includes 16 of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings. The Baycurrent Classic is co-sanctioned with the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO), and a total of 12 JGTO members earned entry.
In last year’s tournament, Xander Schauffele earned his 10th career PGA Tour win by defeating Max Greyserman by one stroke. “I’ve been coming here since I was roughly 10 years old,” Schauffele shared going into the event. “It sort of feels like in some way a home away from home.”
About Black Yokohama Country Club
Yokohama Country Club plays 7,322 yards as a par 71. The facility, based in Yokohama, Japan, has 36-holes. For this tournament, 16 holes from the West Course were combined with two holes from the East Course. New fairway bunkers, tees and extra rough were added to the course to test the players from the PGA Tour.
The course record is held by Matt McCarty, who shot 60 (-11) in the final round of last year’s event.
Who to Watch at the 2026 Baycurrent Classic
Schauffele will join fellow Presidents Cup teammates Wyndham Clark, Collin Morikawa, Jacob Bridgeman and Justin Thomas. Japanese stars Hideki Matsuyama and Ryo Hisatsune are two of the 14 golfers from Japan playing in this event.
We predict Sungjae Im will earn the victory in Japan. His last four starts on the PGA Tour saw him finish no lower than T15, and he is coming off a Presidents Cup where he went 2-2-1 and led all the players in strokes gained approach.
