The third major of the LPGA season is here: the 2026 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. The tournament will be held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, MN. Defending champion Minjee Lee returns this year, having won last year at Fields Ranch East in Texas in a difficult tournament that left only three players at par or better.

Hazeltine National Golf Club is a historic course that has hosted important events, including the 2016 Ryder Cup and multiple U.S. Opens and U.S. Women’s Opens. The course was designed by legendary designer Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1962. You can hear more behind-the-scenes details about setting up the course for this week, which holes to play and more on the podcast, “The Teacher and The Pro.”

Hazeltine National Golf Club is a par 72 playing 6,760 yards. The tournament’s purse is the highest in LPGA Tour history at $13 million, with the winner receiving $1,950,000.

Who to Watch at the 2026 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship

After winning the U.S. Women’s Open and Chevron Championship, Nelly Korda is the player to watch this week. Korda has four wins this season and has finished as a runner-up three times. After playing a practice round on the course, Korda described some of the challenges players will face this week.

“I would say that obviously the greens are very bare and fast, and then with the wind it’s going to obviously be a big defense of this golf course. The rough is really thick, too, especially around the greens.”

While Korda searches for her third major this season, two top players are looking for their first career major. Neither Jeeno Thitikul nor Charley Hull has won a major, with both finishing as the runner-up in majors in the last two years. After finishing as the runner-up in the last major, Hull is ready to try again this week.

“[I] just have to use it as like positivity, really. Feel good, feel refreshed, and ready to go again,” she said.

The tournament has a strong field this week, with 24 of the top 25 players in the world starting this week. All 11 winners on tour this season are playing.
