The Soudal Open is Belgium’s National Open and has been played on the DP World Tour since 1978. The Soudal Open is the second event of six on the European Swing portion of the schedule. The tournament will be held at Rinkven International Golf Club for the seventh straight year.
In the 2025 Soudal Open, Kristoffer Reitan claimed his maiden DP World Tour title by defeating Ewen Ferguson and Darius Van Driel in a playoff.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Soudal Open
Past champions Simon Forsström and Nacho Elvira are part of the field that includes five players that have won events on the DP World Tour this year. We predict Thomas Detry of Belgium will earn his first career victory on the DP World Tour. The former PGA Tour winner now playing on the LIV Golf tour has finished seventh or higher in five of the seven LIV events.
“For any player, winning their national open is definitely on the bucket list. And for me, it’s one of them,” said Detry. “We are one of the lucky ones that actually are able to play tournaments in their own country, and being able to put that on my CV would be incredible, so it’s definitely my goal to win this week.”
However, another player to keep an eye on is hometown favorite Nicolas Colsaerts, who extended his plans to retire from professional golf until after this event. After 26 years on the DP World Tour, Colsaerts is walking away with at least three wins and one memorable Ryder Cup appearance in 2012. Coincidentally, he is also Detry’s idol.
“It’s down to not forgetting where you come from,” said Colsaerts. “The first time I played this golf course, I was, like, 15, 16 years old, and to come now, at 43 and playing my last European Tour event on the very same course, is really cool. It’s not about a big stage, small stage – it’s who you play in front of and what it means to you. Not having a chance to play a Belgian Open throughout my career, because there wasn’t any – they were the first events that I went to watch when I was eight, nine years old, so they’re still very fresh in my mind. It’s such an unbelievable opportunity to do this at home, and close this chapter, and to do it in front of people I’ve known really well for so long, is really cool.”
