The Ladies European Tour plays its final event in Africa this season at the 2026 Lalla Meryem Cup. The tournament will be held in Rabat, Morocco, at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam (Blue Course). The Lalla Meryem Cup’s purse is €450,000.

The 2025 winner, Cara Gainer, is in the field to defend her title this week after her victory over Diksha Dagar in a playoff last year.

Royal Golf Dar Es Salam is a par 73 playing 6,449 yards. The course was designed by architect Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1971. The course has hosted events across multiple tours, including the European Tour, and will host the PGA Tour Champions Trophy Hassan II at the same time in a unique collaboration between tours.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Lalla Meryem Cup

England’s Cara Gainer is looking for her first win of the 2026 season. After claiming her first win on tour at the 2025 Lalla Meryem Cup, she had four other top five finishes last season. Gainer’s highest finish this year is a runner-up at the Investec SA Women’s Open in April.

“It gives me massive confident coming here knowing I’ve won before,” said Gainer. “You know you can do it. I didn’t actually feel I made too many putts last year, but I holed them when I needed to. Especially on the final round when I birdied three of the final four holes to get into the playoff. I think that shows me that I need to be patient – just keep hitting good shots and good putts and eventually you’ll be rewarded which is what happened last year.”

A player to watch this week is Anna Huang. At just 17 years old, Huang turned pro in 2025 and represents Canada. She won the La Sella Open and Lacoste Ladies Open de France in back-to-back weeks in September 2025. Huang has four top ten finishes this season, including a third-place finish last week at the Amundi German Masters.

Local favorite Maha Haddioui will have played in the Lalla Meryem Cup 14 times once she tees off this week. She is one of seven Moroccans in the field and the highest ranked among them. She has represented Morocco in the Olympics twice. She hopes to become the first Moroccan to win the Lalla Meryem and the second to win on the LET.

“I’m so proud to be Moroccan and I’m so proud of what this tournament has to offer – what Rabat has to offer,” said Haddioui. “I think it’s a beautiful city and I’m really happy that the people on tour who are now my friends, my travelling family, get to experience the country that I love. I’ve got my best friend here. My sister of course. My parents here and a few friends.”

The players tee off on Thursday and wrap up Saturday in this 54-hole event.
