The LPGA Tour concludes its Asian swing this week at the 2026 Toto Japan Classic. The tournament will be held at Taiheiyo Club Minori Course in Omitama, Ibaraki, Japan. The 48th edition of the Toto Japan Classic is co-sanctioned by the LPGA Tour and the JLPGA (Ladies Professional Golfers’ Association of Japan). The format is a 72-hole tournament with no cut.

Nasa Hataoka will be in the field to defend her title after her playoff victory over Yuna Araki last year.

Taiheiyo Club Minori Course is a par-72 course playing 6,598 yards. Shunji Kurakami designed the golf course, which opened in 2002. Norio Honma later redesigned the course.

The purse for the 2026 Toto Japan Classic is $2.1 million USD.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Toto Japan Classic

Ten of the top 25 players in the Rolex Rankings are in the field this week led, by Miyu Yamashita and Jeeno Thitikul. Five previous champions are also in the field.

Yamashita has been excellent the past few months: her last finish outside of the top 10 was at the AIG Women’s Open in July. Since then, she has won the CPKC Women’s Open and the Maybank Championship. Yamashita also won the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give in June.

“I’m glad to be back with three wins this season, but every tournament I just try to focus on my game and what’s the best condition. Winning three tournaments, it means confidence definitely, but I still have something I need to sort out, so I just want to keep going in this condition,” she said.

Thitikul is making her second start on the Asian swing this week. She has also had a string of recent successes, finishing inside of the top 10 in her last seven starts. Thitikul won the LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei and The Standard Portland Classic. She credits her training and her coach for her performances.

“I try to keep things on track, even when things are not really feeling good. So I try to see my coach, I try also physically in the gym which is important too. I feel like as an amateur, we play one or two tournaments in a month, but as a professional, we play two weeks in a row, three weeks in a row, maybe four weeks in a row,” she said.
