This is the 72nd edition of the BMW PGA Championship and is the third of five Rolex Series Events on the DP World Tour schedule. These events come with an elevated purse, Race to Dubai points and Ryder Cup points. This is the fourth event of the Back 9 section of the schedule and takes place in the UK.
In the 2025 BMW PGA Championship, Alex Noren became a two-time winner of this event after defeating Adrien Saddier in a playoff.
About Wentworth Club
Wentworth Club plays 7,267 yards as a par 72. This is the 42nd consecutive playing of this event at Wentworth Club. The players’ irons game will be tested this week as most of the greens are protected by bunkers. Off the tee, players will need to be accurate as the fairways are lined with trees.
The course record of 62 (-10) is shared by Noren, Thomas Bjorn, Jon Rahm, Min Woo Lee and Robert Karlsson.
Who to Watch at the 2026 BMW PGA Championship
The world-class field features 11 of the 12 players from the winning 2025 European Ryder Cup team. Major winners Brooks Koepka, J.J. Spaun, Ryan Fox and Aaron Rai will also be teeing it up at Wentworth.
Last week’s winner, Shane Lowry at the Amgen Irish Open, will be competing this week and reflected on his journey this season, saying, “We talked about you have to go through the tough times to experience the good times, and it’s very, very hard at times to go through those tough times. But I’d go through them a million times over to experience what I did on Sunday.”
We predict Matt Fitzpatrick will earn his 11th career DP World Tour win. He finished T5 at this event last year and is coming off a three-win season on the PGA Tour.
Fitzpatrick said this about the possibility of winning this tournament. “It would be amazing to win in front of a home crowd. Obviously the highlight of the year for the DP World Tour.”
