U.S. Captain Brandt Snedeker chose the starting format of match play, which will then alternate thereafter:
Thursday: five Four-ball matches
Friday: five Foursomes matches
Saturday: split into a morning and afternoon session with Four-ball and Foursomes, respectively
Sunday: 12 Singles matches.
The U.S. Team is looking for its 11th win in a row at the Presidents Cup. In the previous 15 renditions of this event, the U.S. Team has only not won twice, they lost in 1998 and tied in 2003.
In the 2024 Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal Golf Club, the U.S. Team defeated the International Team 18.5-11.5. Team USA swept the first session on Thursday, but the International Team ran away with the Friday session to tie the event heading into the weekend.

Medinah Country Club Course 3 plays 7,548 yards as a par 70. Medinah is no stranger to hosting big events, as it has been the venue for the 2012 Ryder Cup, two PGA Championships and three U.S. Opens.
International Team Captain Geoff Ogilvy and his design team OCM orchestrated the golf course’s major renovation in 2022-2023. They eliminated holes 13,15 and 17 and replaced them with three entirely new holes. They doubled the size of the fairways, going from 29 acres to 58, the bunker count went from 70 to 117 and average green size went from 6,000 square feet to 8,600 square feet.

Who to Watch at the 2026 Presidents Cup
Each team consists of six automatic qualifiers and six captain’s picks. The Americans have three rookies in Chris Gotterup, Jacob Bridgeman and Jackson Koivun while the International Team has four rookies in Nico Echavarria, Nick Taylor, Ryan Fox and Ryo Hisatsune.
U.S. stalwarts include Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay. On the International side, you have Adam Scott making his 12th consecutive Presidents Cup, Hideki Matsuyama making his seventh consecutive team and Si Woo Kim coming off arguably his best season on the PGA Tour for his fourth Presidents Cup.
We predict the U.S. Team will beat the International Team 16.5-13.5.
