Jacob Bridgeman won the Biltmore Championship Asheville by two strokes over Ben James. This is Bridgeman’s second win of the season, with the other being the 2026 Genesis Invitational. The South Carolina native grew up 50 miles from The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.
Bridgeman started the final round five strokes back of the 54-hole leader Neal Shipley. A stretch of four birdies in five holes down the stretch propelled him to the top of the leaderboard. His bogey-free round of 61 (-10) is the lowest 18-hole score of Bridgeman’s career.
The PGA Tour’s number one player in strokes gained putting proved himself again by leading the field in strokes gained putting this week. Bridgeman also led with 30 birdie-or better holes.
“My goal to start the year was to win, make East Lake and make the Presidents Cup, so I hit all those and hit the win category twice,” Bridgeman said after his win.
James has made nine starts since turning professional and earning his PGA Tour card through his first-place finish in the PGA Tour University rankings this past June. This is his third top-5 finish in those nine starts, and he has moved all the way to 66th on the FedExCup standings.
The PGA Tour is off next week with the Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club in Chicago, Illinois. Bridgeman will be part of the U.S. Team after being selected as one of Captain Snedeker’s six captains picks.
